A divine sanctuary of harmony and beauty
Described by renowned Feng Shui masters as an auspicious land closest to heavenly perfection on earth, Nirvana Memorial Park (Ipoh) is possibly one of the most majestic memorial parks in Malaysia. Surrounded by a breathtaking hilly landscape that is synonymous with the Kinta district, the memorial park is Nirvana Asia Group’s first foray into into Peninsular Malaysia’s second-largest state of Perak.
Nirvana Memorial Park (Ipoh) is located around 23km northeast of the state capital, Ipoh, at Tanjung Rambutan and is developed on a plateau originating from the Titiwangsa range. It is particularly noted for its rare Feng Shui landform that resembles a recumbent qilin – an auspicious beast from Chinese mythology – that is much sought after by Chinese emperors of the past and influential people of today for its powerful quality.
Nirvana Memorial Park (Ipoh) has five thematic parks with many more scenic subsidiary zones that enhance the natural environment’s beauty through ingenious harmonizing. As with each of Nirvana’s numerous memorial parks, the Ipoh chapter has many choices that cater to multiple denominations. Nirvana’s award-winning landscape design is on full display at every zone; each no less impressive than the next. The same can be said for its masterful use of architecture, which blends naturally with the natural landscape.
Crowning the highest peak of the memorial park is a masterpiece example known as the Temple of Heaven. The multi-purpose complex is inspired by its namesake in Beijing. Unlike its ancient counterpart, Nirvana Memorial Park (Ipoh)’s Temple of Heaven does not shy away from incorporating modern with traditional elements for a unique reinterpretation. The grand cupola houses a massive statue of the Amitabha Buddha encircled by hollowed walls forming the Heart Sutra to create a spectacular display of light and shadow. Complementing the structure is a dramatic reflecting pool that mirrors the sky to convey the divine supremacy of Heaven. Nirvana Memorial Park (Ipoh) is truly an ideal resting place that honors the past with a vision for the future.
